A grey-blue quartzite with wide gold veining.
All quartzite →Blue Roma is a quartzite with a grey-blue ground and wide gold veining. Quartzite is a natural stone, harder than marble and more resistant to heat and scratching, and like any natural stone it should be sealed. With veining this large, the slab itself matters more than the name on the label, so it is worth seeing the actual slabs before choosing.
Blue Roma is a quartzite with a grey-blue ground and wide gold veining. It is one of the boldest quartzites we install: a single slab carries a lot of color and movement, so it usually works best as the one statement in a room.
Because each slab is so distinct, layout is decided before cutting: where the gold veins land on the island, how a full-height backsplash continues the pattern, and how mitered edges and waterfalls wrap the corners, as on our Oak Park kitchen.
As a natural quartzite it is sealed at install, checked over time with the water test, and cleaned with mild soap or a pH-neutral stone cleaner.
Every slab is different, so it is best chosen in person and laid out before cutting. Bookmatched or sequential slabs help keep the pattern consistent across a large kitchen.
Yes, like any natural quartzite. Reseal when water no longer beads on the surface.
A mitered edge is common, because it lets the veining continue over the edge and down a waterfall without a visible break.
