Granite asks very little day to day. It handles heat, knives and acids, it is sealed at install, and it usually goes years between reseals. Darker granites look especially good in a honed or leathered finish, which hides fingerprints and water spots. It is also the stone we most often recommend for outdoor kitchens.
On a bar, granite takes glasses, ice and spills without complaint.
