New River White granite: what to know

Granite earned its place as the working kitchen stone. It is dense, heat-resistant and hard to scratch, kitchen acids do not etch it, and once sealed it resists stains well. It is one of the few surfaces that also belongs outdoors, since sun and weather do not fade it. Polished, honed and leathered finishes change its character completely.

In a kitchen, granite is the stone that asks least: heat, knives and spills are all fine once it is sealed.

Common questions

Will granite etch like marble?

No. Lemon, wine and vinegar do not etch granite, and once sealed it resists stains well.

Granite or quartz?

Both are durable. Granite takes heat and sun and is sealed like any natural stone. Quartz never needs sealing but should be kept away from hot pans and direct sun.
